This Monday, Shahin is bringing Texas to Nomad House with our first Texas Two-Step class. 🤠

If you've never danced Two-Step before, perfect.

Beginners are the life of the party here. After all, nothing says "I'm absolutely nailing this" quite like politely stepping on someone else's toes.

We'll learn the basics of the legendary Texas Two-Step, dancing in pairs as leaders and followers throughout the class.

You don't need to bring a partner, but we do want everyone to actually have someone to dance with.

That's why we'll be keeping registrations balanced between leaders and followers. When signing up, please select the role you'd like to dance so we can keep the numbers as even as possible.

Cowboy boots? Optional.

Cowboy hat? Encouraged.

Unnecessary amounts of "Yeehaw"? Almost certainly.
The idea is the same as our salsa classes: learn something new, dance with different people, have some fun, and meet others without needing to awkwardly introduce yourself to half the room.

Join BCN Globals Run Club and Nomad House for our Monday Beach 5K Run.

LUMA

This event is a collaboration between BCN Globals and Nomad House, with Nomad House supporting the run as a community partner and sponsor. Together, we want to create more easy ways for internationals, locals, entrepreneurs, professionals, founders, freelancers, creatives, and new-in-town members to move, connect, and start the week with good energy.

This is a social and beginner-friendly 5K by the beach.

You do not need to be fast. You just need to show up, move, and enjoy the run.

You can also join the optional BCN Globals Run Challenge.

At our Monday Beach 5K, the top male runner and top female runner can each win a €5 restaurant voucher to use at one of our favorite post-run restaurants, such as La Carioca or Honest Greens.

The challenge is activated when we have a minimum of 5 runners registered in each category.

Meeting Point
La Carioca, Barceloneta

We meet at La Carioca Restaurant, just a few meters from Barceloneta Metro Station on the Yellow Line, L4.

Storage:
La Carioca can store our belongings during the run. Storage is limited, so please bring as little as possible.

Water:
La Carioca provides free water jars after the run.

Food and drinks:
We have a 10% discount on drinks and food at La Carioca after the run.

Program

19:30 - Meet at La Carioca, bag drop, optional 5K Challenge registration
19:45 - Welcome, runner introductions in groups of 5, and warm-up
20:00 - Start of the 5K beach run
Around 20:30 - Return to La Carioca for water, cooldown and stretching
20:30 onwards - Optional post-run food, drinks and social time

This is a 5K non-stop beach run.

Beginners are welcome. If you are not used to running 5K non-stop yet, our host team and pacers will help you manage the pace, stay with the group, and complete the route safely.

The goal is to help you build up your skills so you can eventually run the full 5K non-stop with confidence.

Pace Groups

We usually organize two pace groups:

Faster group: around 5 min/km
Social group: around 6 min/km

If you are a beginner or you are not used to running 5K without stopping, don’t worry. Our team will help you choose the right pace and support you during the run.

BCN Globals Run Club is part of BCN Globals Sports Club, the sports side of BCN Globals: an international and local community in Barcelona for people who want to live better, connect more, and make the city feel like home.

We believe sport is one of the easiest ways to meet people, build routines, and feel part of something, especially when you live abroad.

Hi everyone,

Apparently running together wasn't enough.

So Nomad House x BCN Globals are taking things back to the beach, this time with a net, a volleyball, and the completely reasonable expectation that some of us will suddenly believe we're professional athletes.

Welcome to SEA, NETS & SUN, our social beach volleyball tournament.

Lucas told me the idea is pretty simple:

Come play.
Meet people.
Get some sun.

Hit a volleyball in approximately the direction you intended.
We're playing 4 vs 4, with an Americana-style rotation. That means you'll switch teams throughout the morning, so you don't need to bring a partner or organize your own team.

You'll play with and against different people every round.

Beginners are absolutely welcome. You don't need experience, just enough energy to get yourself to the beach before 9:00 on a Sunday.

Yes.

9:00 in the morning.

We know.

But we'll finish before the sand becomes approximately the temperature of the sun, so your feet will thank us later.

Sunday, 9:00 to 11:30
We'll play around five 15-20 minute matches with breaks in between for water, bananas and recovering from the athletic career you didn't know you had.

Your €8 ticket includes:
• Net setup and reserved playing space
• Volleyballs

Everything will already be set up. You just need to show up and play.
This event is organized together by Nomad House x BCN Globals, bringing both communities together for a social Sunday morning by the sea.

Spots are limited so everyone actually gets enough playing time.
