About us

This group is for women that are beginners, returning to golf and experienced golfers.  It’s a FUN and social women’s group playing casual, not competitive golf.  The focus is to make golf enjoyable regardless of your level of play.

Whether you are a beginner looking to play in a fun and supportive environment while building your golf skills and knowledge, or you are an experienced golfer who simply wants to have fun and make new friends, come play with us on "Sacramento's #1 Course for Fun." We welcome all to have fun with us on the course and afterward at Bartley’s Tap House for a laugh, a beverage, or a bite to eat.

Our supportive environment includes playing with a mentor (if you would like) to help players learn the game of golf and build confidence through encouragement and laughter.  Mentoring can include etiquette, pace of play, target alignment, grip, course management, and if interested, USGA Rules of Golf.  Our mentors are women golfers, not instructors, who are happy to share their knowledge of the game. Mentors can show you how to track your progress through score keeping as well as how to establish a golf handicap index number (GHIN).

After your round, join us in Bartley's Tap House. It's part of the FUN. Each week, we socialize, have a drink, enjoy a meal, share stories, and laugh.

When do we play?
We play on Tuesday mornings year-round and Wednesday twilight (evenings) from mid-April to mid-September.  On Tuesday mornings you can sign up to play 9 or 18 holes and Wednesday evenings we play only 9 holes.

Where do we play?
We play on Bartley Cavanaugh’s 18-hole golf course. For more information about Bartley Cavanaugh Golf Course go to: https://www.bartleycavanaugh.com/

Can I play 9 holes, instead of 18 holes on Tuesday mornings?
Yes, it’s your choice though we suggest 18 because it's the best value and you won't want to miss playing the fun, short, PAR 3 island green on the 17th hole. If you're unsure if you're ready to play all 18 holes, there are options to consider. For example, you can play the front 9 holes then chip and putt on the back 9 holes for on-course practice or play every other hole on the back 9.  Another possibility is to play a scramble format with a mentor. It’s your choice to tailor the game to your level of play or preference.  You can contact Jo Gregory, Women’s Ambassador at [[jgregory@hagginoaks.com](mailto:jgregory@hagginoaks.com)](mailto:jgregory@hagginoaks.com) to talk about what might be best suited for your level of play.

How do I sign up to play?
To join us, first register as a member of our Meetup group and then simply select the event dates you can play and click the ATTEND button on Meetup.  Be sure to answer the questions about playing 9 or 18 holes and walking or riding. There are no membership fees.  Just pay your green fees when you come out to play. You can contact our Women’s Golf Ambassador, Jo Gregory, via email at [[jgregory@hagginoaks.com](mailto:jgregory@hagginoaks.com)](mailto:jgregory@hagginoaks.com) or phone/text at 407-756-8736 for assistance with registration on Meetup.

What are the costs?
