I’m a big fan of live music and love discovering independent artists, especially at a time when venues are struggling to stay open due to limited government support.
Although I live in Bristol, Bath has a buzzing music scene and some brilliant venues. One of my favourites is the Chapel Arts Centre, which will soon host the excellent blues singer-songwriter and guitarist Mississippi MacDonald and his band. Tickets are on sale now and likely to sell out.
I’ve seen Mississippi several times and he’s well worth seeing—a three-time UK Blues Award winner and Take Me To The River All-Star. Living Blues (USA) describes him as “wholly authentic… the next generation of great UK guitarists,” and I couldn’t agree more.
Seats are cabaret-style (tables and chairs). Let me know if you’re coming and I’ll try to reserve seats so we can sit together.
