This Sunday is the winter solstice! Ideally if the weather was nice, we would have been outside and gone on a leisurely stroll in the park or a hike, but it's going to be raining... so let's make the most of the (shortest) day!

If you haven't been to Big Al's before, there's an arcade (on your left as you walk in), a bowling alley (on your right as you walk in), food/bar/TV area (straight ahead), and an open area (towards the left after you walk in) with some more arcade games, giant Jenga, darts, and table tennis.

Let's meet in the large open area in the back left of the room near the table tennis tables/Jenga blocks to start, then we can make our way around and do other things after.

I'll bring some board games, and if you have any games you like, bring those as well!

If you want to get food/lunch before or after (or during the event), you can get food at the venue, and there are also many options nearby. Here are the ones that are within the same complex/walk across the road:
- Cajun Crack'n
- Dish N Dash
- Dindigul Thalappakatti
- Banana Leaf (might be closed Sunday)
- Namma
- Taqueria Los Cuñados
- Idly Express
- In N Out
- Taco Bell
- KoKoLo Donburi
- Ramen 101
- Royal Thaali
- V Sushi
- Shabuya
- Mr. Hello Luosifen
- HL Peninsula Restaurant (this is fairly recent?)
- Romano's Macaroni Grill
- Aria Dining & Banquets Fine Indian Cuisine

If those aren't enough options for you, you can drive a mile and explore more spots in the Ranch 99 area.

Getting there
Public transportation: the 47 takes you right to McCarthy Ranch - you'll probably need to get to one of the 47 stops though, which is probably the main challenge. Transit App is pretty handy (example going from Diridion to Big Al's).

There is a pretty big parking lot, so driving is an option too. Please carpool if you can! https://www.groupcarpool.com/
