What we’re about
Welcome! The ADU (Accessory Dwelling Unit) has become instrumental in combating the Bay Area's affordable housing crisis. The California Assembly has adopted new legislation since January 1, 2020 that has essentially made all single-family homeowners potential "triplex" developers and property owners.
Our 'Bay Area ADU' Meetup Group is a community and a forum where all affordable housing advocates, from various backgrounds, can come together and share resources, experiences, knowledge, talents, questions, and stories. Our members come from the public and private sector, from tenants to landlords, from those just learning about ADU's to those shaping new housing policy into ADU Law.
After a long hiatus, and, as we come out from the grip of this Pandemic, we will Meetup 'virtually' every month with the hope that by summer, 2022, we will Meetup in-person again and/or host "hybrid" Meetup events. Every month we will discuss topics such as "ADU Financing", "Tapping Into the ADU Market", "Multi-Residential ADU's" and "Building Your Own ADU."
We hope that you can join us, be a part of our "Bay Area ADU" community, and help each other grow to become great,
