What we’re about
Bay Area Autism Collective (BAAC) is dedicated to creating a world where autistic people have access to robust social support that holds space for shared experiences and our most vulnerable issues. We strive for unfettered access to autism-informed, autism-affirming resources. We are the vanguards of advocacy that will advance our self-determination and autonomy while challenging and liberating ourselves from ableist and eugenicist agendas.

The BAAC Virtual Meet-Up for Autistic Adults is a weekly social hour on Sundays from 7-8 pm PST *exclusively* for autistic adults. The group is a safe space to unmask and be our authentic selves outside the neuronormative expectations of society. To register, go to tinyurl.com/BAAC-social. A little about the social hour:
- An autistic peer facilitates the group.
- In the group, we are all autistic and have full reign to unmask and be ourselves.
- No one will be rushed or obligated to speak.
- Members can use the chat to participate or just hang out and observe.
- Members aren’t obligated to have their cameras on.
- Attendees can multi-task while we meet.
- All are free to stim, fidget, eat, or drink, and do anything that makes them comfortable while the group meets.
- Zoom provides AI captions. If you have accessibility needs beyond Zoom captions, please email the organizer at bird@bayareaautismcollective.org
