Bay Area Autism Collective Virtual Meet-Up for Autistic Adults

Details

The Bay Area Autism Collective (BAAC) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit serving the autistic adult community.

The BAAC Virtual Meet-Up for Autistic Adults is a weekly social hour on Sundays from 7-8 pm PST *exclusively* for autistic adults. The group is a safe space to unmask and be our authentic selves outside the neuronormative expectations of society.

The group meets over Zoom and is free of charge. A little about the social hour:

  • An autistic peer facilitates the group.
  • In the group, we are all autistic and have full reign to unmask and be ourselves.
  • No one will be rushed or obligated to speak.
  • Members can use the chat to participate or just hang out and observe.
  • Members aren’t obligated to have their cameras on.
  • Attendees can multi-task while we meet.
  • All are free to stim, fidget, eat, or drink, and do anything that makes them comfortable while the group meets.
  • Zoom provides AI captions. If you have accessibility needs beyond Zoom captions, please email the organizer at bird@bayareaautismcollective.org
