Let's read through the classics of the Western canon: starting with the Near East (Gilgamesh, bible); through India (Ramayana); Greece (Hesiod and Homer); Rome (Virgil); middle ages (Augustine); Renaissance (Goethe, Shakespeare); etc.
We'll go through a chapter a week with commentary; and, if we can, let's take a look at the original!
Otherwise, we'll find a good translation.
