VESICA is Initiator and Co-founder of Ecstatic Dance Berlin, where she is a resident DJ and the organizer of Ecstatic Dance Sundays.

VESICA, while originally from Berlin, has lived most of her adult life in the San Francisco Bay Area, CA. Oakland Ecstatic Dance saved her in 2008, when her doctoral dissertation on spirit possession & psychiatry was literally driving her mad. Ever since, Ecstatic Dance has been her twice weekly, non-negotiable pilgrimage to the dance floor -to get down and right with herself, her community, her body and the Universe.

Yoga w/Kanna 10-11am

Kanna’s journey with yoga began at 19, when she tripped and fell upon a video cassette of Tracey Rich & Ganga White, which became her steadfast practice for years. Fast forward two decades, dozens of teachers and disciplines, a yoga teacher training with Ambika Daniella Cotreau, and most recently a multi-year study with renowned master yogi Maritza, Kanna is excited to bring the culmination of her work to the world through teaching.

Her yoga classes are best described as slow, Hatha-style alignment-focused asana meditations designed to bring deeper awareness into the subtle body and open energy channels. She works not just with the physical body but with the recognition that the practice is a way of communing with the divine, through opening senses and intentionally connecting to Soul. Her desire is that every class is a gateway to Soul Embodiment and that practitioners experience a visceral rearrangement into a higher order of coherence within their energy field.

Come join the amazing community we co-create every week! It is our dance church and sanctuary! A place to connect and re-connect with yourself and others. A place where ALL are welcome and all emotions are welcome. Like other Ecstatic Dances, we are talk-free, substance-free, shoe-free and FREE spirited!

Guidelines for our dance

• BE PRESENT (no phones or cameras)
• NO TALKING (no talking on the main dance floor – soft voice/whispering is ok in the back of the room)
• EMBODIMENT (be aware if your body movement is causing danger or if your voice/sounds are disruptive to those around you)
• SUBSTANCE FREE (no intoxicants of any kind)
• CONSENSUAL (make eye contact and confirm a “YES” before engaging with others, respect others space - crossed arms, looking or moving away means “NO”)
• GROUNDING (no outside shoes)
• RESPECT (respect your own & other’s space, expression, and autonomy)
