http://photos3.meetupstatic.com/photos/event/3/7/b/f/event_40094271.jpegPlease join us when Parapsychologist Loyd Auerbach (http://www.mindreader.com/loyd/) and Psychic Medium Annette Martin (http://www.annette-martin.com/) pay a joint return visit with BAGH to talk to us about their new book, The Ghost Detectives' Guide to Haunted San Francisco (http://www.amazon.com/Ghost-Detectives-Guide-Haunted-Francisco/dp/1610350073/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top) , which goes into detail about some of their investigations on a few of the city's best known haunted sites—most of which allow some form of public access. We'll get more details on Alcatraz, Chinatown, The Presidio's Officers' Club, the Queen Anne Hotel and the former Mansions Hotel. Loyd will give us the real dirt on the haunting at the Moss Beach Distillery.

We'll be meeting at one of San Francisco's iconic eateries, Tommy's Joynt. This hofbrau has been a part of this city since 1947, but the building has been around since the 1880s. When I've asked if they had paranormal activity there in the past, my answer was no; however, maybe Annette will have another answer to that question.

Loyd and Annette will be bringing copies of their book to sell (cover price is $14.95) or if you already have one of your own or any of their others, please bring them along. Lunch will be Dutch treat. Discounted parking is available at the AMC Theater on Van Ness $3 p/h, $6 for two hours. Enter the garage on O'Farrell Street.

For those who would like to make a day or overnight trip out of their San Francisco visit, there are a few tour operators offering ghost walks. San Francisco Ghost Hunt (http://www.sfghosthunt.com/fatcow.com/Welcome.html) covers some of San Francisco's best known haunted sites in the Western Addition and Pacific Heights districts. SF Chinatown Ghost Tours (http://www.sfchinatownghosttours.com/home.html) and Haunted Haight Walking Tour (http://www.hauntedhaight.com/html/hauntedhaight_guide.html) cover their particular neighborhoods. Vampire Tour of San Francisco (http://www.sfvampiretour.com/) explores the Nob Hill area with a slant on vampires, but there are plenty of ghost stories as well.

As for haunted hotels to stay at, Tommy's Joynt is within walking distance of the Queen Anne Hotel. It is also the meeting point for San Francisco Ghost Hunt. See my review at: http://www.epinions.com/review/Queen_Anne_Hotel_CA_94109_United_States/content_107377888900 .

There is the awesome Sir Francis Drake by Union Square, which is a little more open about their ghost stories since I wrote this review. (Ask to see the Prohibition Room, where booze was secretly stored during the hotel's early days.) http://www.epinions.com/review/Sir_Francis_Drake_CA_94102_United_States/content_153795202692 .

If you're on a budget and don't mind going down the hall to use the toilet and shower, there is the San Remo Hotel by the end of the cable car line in the North Beach district: http://www.epinions.com/review/San_Remo_Hotel_1/content_115577360004 .

I'd also like to thank Deb for keeping BAGH busy while I've been dealing with some family business. She has lot more ideas coming too.
