What we’re about

Let's get together for Tawlking in our Bay Area Jewish TOCC group. Once or twice a month, we will introduce a member who will become the host for that month's event (and there may be other events, too). Essentially, a couple of activities that allow members to participate from the Bay Area (not just in one neighborhood) are affordable, intellectually stimulating, emotionally satisfying, not too uncomfortably political but potentially spiritual, possibly philanthropic, and always with space to connect with others. You need only have the desire to connect with other Jews or Jewish learning folks and be interested in building friendships with those who share this heritage as it is loosely defined as Jew-ish according to the San Francisco Jewish Film Festival (www.sfjff.org): Their mission is to promote awareness and appreciation of the diversity of the Jewish people, provide a dynamic and inclusive forum for exploration of and dialogue about the Jewish experience, and encourage independent filmmakers working with Jewish themes. Their programming is rooted in the universality of Jewish themes, while always exploring and expanding the boundaries of what makes a film Jewish.
We align with that in defining ourselves, as Jewish, diverse and curious in forming a community around this idea of connection and repair of the world, by starting within our loosely defined community.
