๐๐ What You'll Learn
Embark on a unique foraging experience and discover the culinary delight of Butter Boletes and Spring Kings with Mikhael Crystallah-Selk in the breathtaking landscapes surrounding Mt. Shasta. This immersive class offers a rare opportunity to connect with nature and learn the art of wild mushroom identification in one of California's most pristine environments. While focusing on boletes, we will also learn other montane mushrooms, and the trees the various fungi are associated with.
Mikhael Selk, a seasoned mushroom educator, will guide you through the coniferous forests, revealing the secrets of where and how to find these prized edible fungi. You'll learn essential identification features of Butyriboletus primiregius as well as any other fungi we encounter. Beyond identification, the class will cover multiple perspectives on sustainable and respectful harvesting techniques.
This hands-on workshop is perfect for both beginner foragers and those looking to deepen their mycological knowledge. You'll gain practical skills, learn about the ecology of the region, learn how to preserve your mushrooms to eat year-round, and enjoy the thrill of discovering delicious wild edibles. Prepare for a day of exploration, education, and the potential for a delicious haul of golden boletes!
