🌷 Tulip Day & Picnic in Union Square! 🌷
Details
💐 Join us for a blooming beautiful morning in downtown San Francisco! Tulip Day transforms Union Square into a colorful floral garden with 80,000 tulips, and visitors can take home 6 tulip plants for free!
🌷 Beyond the flowers, enjoy live music 🎶 and see models wearing spectacular gowns made from real tulips—like floral floats in a parade! It’s fantastic people-watching, a joyful spring atmosphere, and we're kinda fun too!

📅 Date: Saturday, March 21
⏰ Time: 9:00 AM – about 2:30 PM

☕ OUR PLAN
☕ 9:00 AM – Meet at Café Rito inside the Westin St. Francis Hotel to grab coffee and a breakfast bite.
🌷 9:30 AM – Walk together to Union Square Plaza to join the Tulip line.
🎶 1:00 PM – Tulip selection opens in Union Square Plaza (and closes at 4:30 PM or as soon as they run out!)
🧺 🥪 Optional Picnic Lunch After at Yerba Buena Park.
Yes, it’ll be a bit of a wait—but we’ll make it fun with games, chatting, great people-watching, photos, and lots of chances to get to know each other.
We’ll enter the line together around 9:30 AM and stay together as it moves*, so arriving early helps everyone share the wait and keeps things fair for the group and respectful to those behind us in line.*

🌷 Finding Our Group
Look for our sparkly green streamers and hosts Gabriela and Leah wearing colorful bead necklaces. That will help you spot our group in the crowd.
---------------------------------
🌷 A Quick Note About the Line
Because this is such a popular event, everyone who wants tulips will need to help hold our place in line. We’ll rotate short breaks so people can stretch, explore nearby, or grab a snack while others keep the line moving.
To keep things fair for everyone (and the people behind us), please plan to arrive early and join us by about 9:30 AM if you'd like to stand in line together.
---------------------------------
🎒 What to Bring
• Tote bag or sturdy plastic bag for your tulips (bulbs will be wet and dirty)
• Water, hat, and sunscreen
• A jacket (it's San Francisco!)
• Bag lunch or plan to buy lunch nearby
• Optional: lightweight folding stool or chair
• Comfortable shoes and good spirits!
We’ll take lots of photos and create fun memories together as we welcome spring. 🌷
