Come celebrate Labor Day weekend with your New Beginnings friends at a relaxed backyard potluck and BBQ in San Mateo! Bring something tasty, pour yourself something refreshing, catch up with old friends, and make a few new ones along the way. ☀️🍷🥗

Our host, Robert Harker, is opening up Harker’s Back Forty — otherwise known as his backyard — for an easygoing afternoon of food, conversation, and good company.

🧺 POTLUCK/BBQ 🍗

Robert has a small BBQ available, so you’re welcome to bring something to grill, or bring a favorite appetizer, salad, side dish, dessert, or other dish to share. Please also bring whatever you’d like to drink.

Robert will provide chairs, tables, plates, glasses, and supplies, so all we need is you — and whatever delicious contribution inspires you!

🔥 The BBQ will get going around 4:30–5:00-ish, but come anytime after 3:30 PM to settle in, visit, and enjoy the afternoon.

🧥 Dress for San Mateo

Even on a warm day, evenings in San Mateo can cool down quickly, so bring a jacket or sweater in case you stay into the evening.

🚗 Parking

The Back Forty is located across from San Mateo High School in north San Mateo.

There is plenty of off-street parking next to the San Mateo Union High School District offices and behind the Performing Arts Center. Please use those lots rather than parking on the street so neighborhood spaces remain available for Robert’s neighbors.

Robert’s driveway will be reserved for anyone who needs accessible parking.

---------------------------------

Come spend part of your Labor Day weekend relaxing in the backyard with good food, good music, good conversation, and your New Beginnings friends. We’d love to see you there! 🇺🇸🌿

And for anyone wondering, “The Back Forty of what?” Robert says he’ll let us know when he figures that out. 😄
