This workshop will be conducted by Photographer and Author Dick Evans who has written the definitive book on the Haight: "San Francisco and the Bay Area - the Haight Ashbury Edition".
You will be amazed at the colorful and little known locations that he will reveal for us to photograph - many that even natives do not know about. The Haight is one of the truly unique neighborhoods in San Francisco with so many outstanding things to photograph.
I have included some of the photographs from the book, however, it contains over 200 images.
For this workshop, Dick has selected some of his favorites to reveal to you.
He will be available to help you with setting up your camera and compose your images if you wish.
With his vast knowledge of the history of the Haight, he will share a wealth of information about the locations we photograph.

Date: Sunday, August 11, 2013
Time: We will start at 2:30 pm with an orientation before we embark on our adventure.
Dick will show prints of the locations from his book and talk about the history of the sites as well as the camera settings and composition that he used to photograph them.
We will start the workshop at 3:00 pm and, at each location we visit, he will provide some suggestions about how to create your images.
We will spend several hours photographing locations with Dick and end with an optional, no host group dinner after the workshop.
