Every year, in April, there is an explosion of colorful boats that fill San Francisco bay for the annual "Opening Day on the Bay".

The ships parade past Chrissy Field, the Marina and the San Francisco Yacht Club offering a marvelous opportunity take great photos.

Date: Sunday, April 29, 2012

Meeting Time: 10:00 am

Parking: This event is being held on a Sunday so parking meters do not run and hourly time limits do not apply. However, Opening Day is very popular and with warm weather predicted for the weekend, it will get crowded later in the day.

Traffic: Expect Traffic delays in the Marina Green area due to the demolition of the Doyle Drive entrance to the Golden Gate Bridge. Allow extra time for travel especially if you are coming from Marin County, however, this construction will affect all traffic in the Marina area so allow even more time for this.

Meeting Location: Crissy Field Center Building, 1199 East Beach Street, North of the Marina Green in the Presidio of San Francisco.
