Creating Great REST and gRPC API Experiences (in Swift)

Hosted By
Tripta G. and Joe S.

Details
Tim Burks leads the API Client Tools team at Google, which produces open source tools for making networked API consumption easy in Java, Go, C#, Python, Ruby, Node, PHP, Kotlin, and... Swift?!?
Tim will talk about how standard API description formats like the Protocol Buffer Language and OpenAPI can reduce handwritten code (in Swift) and improve API experiences (in Swift) and also how, if you don't like the code that comes out of a code generator, you can easily write your own (in Swift). Also, if you're wondering "what is gRPC?", he'll talk about some advantages of this system for building RPC APIs on HTTP/2 and how you can build gRPC clients and servers in Swift.
