Lake Merritt Picnic & Sports Hangout: Volleyball, Soccer & Chill

Let’s get outside and enjoy the weekend! We’re hosting a casual, laid-back afternoon at Lake Merritt for anyone looking to meet new people, play some games, or just relax in the sun.
We’ll have a few different sports set up, including a freestanding volleyball net and a spot for soccer. Whether you want to jump into a rotating game, throw a frisbee around, or just sit on a picnic blanket and chat with the Bay Area Social Scene, this event is totally go-at-your-own-pace. There’s zero pressure to be an athlete—the main goal is just to hang out and have a good time!
The Game Plan:
1:00 PM: Arrive, set up blankets, and say hi. (Look for our setup near the Bellevue Ave entrance).
1:30 PM - 4:00 PM: Casual games kick off (Volleyball, soccer, dodgeball). Feel free to cycle in and out of games, or just relax and socialize at the picnic area!
What to Bring:
Comfortable clothes and sneakers if you plan on playing.
A picnic blanket or lawn chair to chill on.
Water, snacks, or your favorite drinks (Diet Coke, etc.!) to keep you fueled.
Any extra field games you want to share (Spikeball, frisbees, cornhole).
