Design for Living Better

Bay Area UXPA is pleased to welcome Dan Makoski, Vice President of Design at Walmart Labs, as May’s guest speaker.

Dan's talk will explore the practical steps that user experience teams can take to have a more positive impact on peoples' lives, and on society as a whole. Based on personal experience building products for Microsoft, Google, Capital One and Walmart, this is a call to action to user experience professionals to deploy their craft as an expression of humble service, and to make their work more human, authentic and real.

Speaker's Bio:

Dan Makoski leads design at the world’s largest company, combining the audacity of Silicon Valley with the empathy of Sam Walton. He started Project Ara at Google, designed the original Surface at Microsoft, led design research at Motorola, was the first VP of Design at Capital One, and knows seven versions of the running man.
