The Bay Area South Africans Club is very proud to announce that Angel Island in San Francisco Bay is the venue for our 2nd annual Summer Braai!!! How wonderful is that!!
The Braai will be held on MEMORIAL DAY, May 30, 2011, Monday.
(A national Holiday.) 10 am to 6pm. Check your ferry schedule for the last ferry leaving the island.
Bay Area South Africans is the successor to the Springbok Club of San Francisco and by having our Su...mmer Braai on Angel Island we continue the traditions of the Springbok Club!
All South Africans (and your American friends and family) in California are invited.
We will be occupying the " Hill" location which is a prime picnic spot on the island! The area accommodates about 100 people!!
Please invite all your peeps to come along to this Super Fun Braai!!
Now the only way to get to Angel Island is by Ferry Boat. Please call the various ferries in San Francisco and / or Marin to find out their schedules and times for Angel Island. http://www.angelisland.com/getting_to_the_island/index.php
Mano has paid $ 160 to reserve this very picturesque picnic and Braai site. I would appreciate it if everyone attending could donate $3 or $5 to me as a refund for securing this picnic area.
PLEASE BRING - Charcoal, fire starters, meats, side dishes, salads, sodas, beers etc. Also bring garbage bags, plastic cutlery, napkins, paper towels, paper plates, plastic cups and also toilet tissue.
Please bring a dessert each that will be part of a potluck for all to enjoy. Melktert, Chocolate cake, Koeksusters, fruit salad etc.)
DO NOT BRING - Hard liquor (vodka, rum etc)
- Glass bottles, glasses etc.
- Pets ( dogs etc)
- Vehicles, skates, skateboards, scooters etc.
