We are thankful for BEER! Thanksgiving weekend in Bend Oregon

Update: The event is the Bend Ale Trail Beer Tour that we will be doing on Friday and Saturday night November 29th and 30th. The more the merrier, I hope many people come.

There are also house and car sharing opportunities, that are not part of the beer event per se.

While we are willing to help facilitate getting people together with housing or people that need rides together with people that have empty seats in their cars we can't guarantee that everyone will get space in either; these are only tangentially connected to the event.

House Share: One house is full but there may be enough interest to consider getting another one if anyone is interested in organizing it. Otherwise There is a hotel close to The Ale Trail that that some members will be staying at if they don't get the second house that seems to be a decent price with pretty good reviews. http://www.yelp.com/biz/motel-west-bend

Car Share: As of now there are car share opportunities available but there is also Amtrak (http://tickets.amtrak.com/itd/amtrak) and they have an airport (http://www.bendoregon.gov/index.aspx?page=47)

Bend Oregon (http://www.visitbend.com/) has 11 breweries within walking distance of each (http://www.visitbend.com/Bend_Oregon_Map/Maps/Bend-Ale-Trail-Map/) other and we can't think of a better place to spend a long weekend.

Not all of the details have been worked out but they will go something like this.

Wednesday:

We will be driving from the city and will likely stop along the way for the night. We have a couple of towns with breweries in mind but which one we stop at depends on how bad traffic is; there's a small chance that we may power through.

Thursday:

Arrive at our houses or hotels depending on what you've arranged, some of us will likely be staying here (http://www.yelp.com/biz/motel-west-bend) but there are other options

People that are interested in participating can join us for a traditional Thanksgiving dinner; This will not likely be a pot luck situation and the price of the food will be divided among the people eating it.

If we aren't too tired from the drive and the big dinner we will look for any beer venues open on Thanksgiving or might just have a little party wherever we are staying.

Friday:

Daytime: Skiers will ski and everyone else will do whatever they feel like. I'll probably sleep in and soak in the hot tub.

Saturday:

Daytime: Skiers will ski and everyone else will do whatever they feel like. I'll probably sleep in and look for something cultural or maybe hike.

Sunday:

We will drive home
