Studio 8 Film Festival

Details
| The Studio 8 Film Festival returns with a three-day celebration of experimental, poetic, and animated cinema honoring the visionary legacy of the San Francisco Art Institute. Over 30 groundbreaking works by alumni will screen across Shapeshifters Cinema (Oakland), Roxie Theater (SF), and SFMOMA (SF), alongside tributes to legendary faculty Lawrence Jordan and the late Gunvor Nelson.
“Studio 8 was more than a classroom — it was a film production studio where ideas ran wild and were sometimes caught and made into films. It served as an incubator where no-holds-barred concepts were hatched and brought to life,”
— Marian Wallace, Festival Organizer
