Hamsa making for military families

Details

To honor Jewish military families who are on active duty in the U.S. military, stationed across the U.S. and abroad, we're assembling care packages to be delivered in time for Rosh Hashanah. Join other Jewish young adults in making beautiful decorative hamsas (a symbol of protection) out of clay to include in the care packages, and decorating cards to include with the packages. And, as an extra special treat for volunteering, you're invited to shop at the OFJCC's Ankor Judaica, a one-of-a-kind store for all things Judaica and home, handmade by talented Israeli artists. Ankor is staying open just for us, from 6-8pm, located next door to the cafe. You’re encouraged to purchase an item to include in the care package, and enjoy shopping for yourself too! This is a project of Gesher Tzar M’od, an initiative powered by JWB Jewish Chaplains Council® (JWB), a JCC Association signature program that has been supporting Jewish life in the U.S. military for more than 100 years. It is a simple, fun, and meaningful way for JCC and JCC Camp communities to offer support to Jewish service members and their families when they need it most.
