Nothing says “freedom” like working a minimum-wage job in a fireworks store while your life quietly implodes. As the Fourth of July barrels closer, Taylor is stuck smiling through red, white, and blue retail purgatory—grappling with the recent death of her father, a shift she can’t get covered, a panicking boyfriend, a financially strapped mother, and a vape-loving brother who refuses to launch. One small, desperate mistake sets off a chain reaction she can’t control.
When the sharp, increasingly suspicious daughter of Taylor’s suddenly missing boss starts asking questions, grief curdles into paranoia and patriotic cheer turns combustible.
