Saratoga Gap to Monte Bello

Meeting Place : Vista Point Parking lot

Parking is available at the Vista Point Parking Lot on Skyline 35 and Highway 9.

Here's some info about the trails.

The ride starts out on Saratoga Gap Trail, which has enough technical features to entertain any mountain biker. After crossing Skyline Boulevard to get to the Long Ridge side, the route follows some fire roads for a little while before diving into another sweet singletrack. This brings some mild climbing and descending, followed by a steep descent that's enough to get the adrenaline pumping of less experienced riders.

Head toward Skyline Ridge. Ridge Trail is a beautiful singletrack that ambles along a hillside, closely paralleling Skyline Boulevard. It's not particularly technical, though it does throw the occasional rut or rocky patch at you to keep you entertained. There isn't too much climbing before you pass the Christmas tree farm and then Horseshoe Lake.

Break for Lunch / Snack

From there we will take Skid Row to Monte Bello. We will ride the newly re-routed White Oak trail.

After that, you follow Peters Creek to a short and easy set of switchbacks raises you back up to the fire road from which you came, after which you set out on your return by tracing the rest of the route back.

Plan for about 4-6 hours ( depending on the Pace and the Stops ) if you plan to do the whole ride.

Ride will cover about ~ 20+miles and about 3500 - 4500ft. of climbing. (depending on routes)

INTERMEDIATE Social Pace - Might be too slow for the advance riders.

Pack enough waters and Pack a lunch or Snack.
