Project Orleans: Large-scale distributed systems on Azure

Details

Project Orleans is an Actor-based system developed by Microsoft Research to simplify the creation of large-scale distributed systems deployed to Microsoft Azure. Project Orleans is currently in public preview but it is used in production by 343 Industries to provide game statistics to players of Halo 4. In this presentation, Neil Mackenzie will provide an introduction to Project Orleans, showing how the use of .NET 4.5 makes it easy to create distributed applications that can be developed and tested on a single PC and then deployed to an Azure Cloud Service.
