Abstract:
This presentation shares the success story of a critical software networking project undertaken at LinkedIn. The development of DCL (DNS Caching Layer), starting from scratch and fully written in GoLang. Availability, Efficiency and Visibility were the design principles for the product. This presentation contains the following agenda:
- Problem statement and why we built DCL
- DCL architecture and Feature highlights

Jaffar Abdul is currently a software engineer at LinkedIn. He has 15+ years of experience in that career building networking products and infra. At LinkedIn Jaffar focuses on the networking infra such as traffic engineering, DNS, and NAT, and is the principal author of DCL.
