Ansible at BayLISA

Details

BayLISA welcomes Ansible (http://ansible.cc/) and Tim Gerla (http://www.ansibleworks.com/team/) to the April meeting at Yahoo's 700 First St building.

Ansible is a radically simple IT orchestration, configuration management, and task automation tool. Created by Michael DeHaan in 2012, Ansible has some unique features: no agents are required for operation, configuration is data, not code, and it can perform complicated IT orchestration tasks among groups of servers, not just one machine at a time. Tim will do a demo and a technical deep-dive of some of Ansible's capabilities.

Tim Gerla, Vice President of Services and Support at AnsibleWorks (http://www.ansibleworks.com/), has more than 10 years of experience with infrastructure software, with a career spanning software development, architecture, and sales engineering. He's been using Linux since 1996, with his first attempt at an install crippling the family computer.
