Managing Human/Agent Collaboration
Details
NOTE the date change for this October meeting!
Abstract:
Interactive multi-agent sessions over WebRTC bring people and AI agents together to explore data and coordinate work. Supporting these sessions requires infrastructure that can make shared data available, schedule computing resources, and carry work forward after a live interaction ends. This talk examines the warehouse and workflow architecture behind those capabilities.
We focus on two architectural choices. The first is transparent hierarchical storage, which combines frequently updated records with historical data in object storage. A PostgreSQL foreign data wrapper provides a familiar SQL interface across these tiers, allowing agents and analytical tools to access shared data without managing its physical placement. The second is coordinated workflow execution: orchestration manages dependencies and the lifetime of work, while resource scheduling allocates capacity for interactive sessions and the tasks they initiate.
Examples from computational science, financial analytics, and agent operations connect the live session to the infrastructure. We follow how agents access data, initiate workflows, and preserve context for subsequent sessions, with lineage and governance connecting shared data products to the processes that created them.
