About us

Welcome to Bubble Tea San Jose group!!
Bubble Tea... Boba Tea... it's an identity crisis.
But for us, we will call it Bubble Tea, or BBT for short.
The bbt community started in Vancouver in 2010, and is now expanding to San Jose.
If you like bubble tea, boba tea, or bbt, and meetups, then come join us! This group has grown from just visiting different boba tea places to doing any activities with boba tea!
So you will see many different activities that we do: golfing, archery, hiking, eating out, etc. But all these activities will bring us back to a bubble tea, somehow!
Who should join:
If you like bubble tea or simply just hanging out with interesting people, or if you are new to San Jose, this will be a good way to meet people.
We see ourselves more of a community, and not a typical meetup group.
Our rules:
We reserve the right to remove our members if they fail to show up to a fully booked event. Please be considerate when you RSVP. If you really have to cancel then please provide at least 48 hours notice.
Any suggestions ideas are welcome!
Please connect with us on Facebook or iLoveBBT.com.

Pearl tea at TeaTop - Which location? :)
TeaTop, 6158 Bollinger Road, San Jose, CA, USThe last time we were there were interesting discussions and we learned to play the Big 2 card game, thanks to Alan.
TeaTop - Top tea from Taiwan. Say that 3 times fast! Let's have pearl tea at TeaTop, which features a Top 10 Drink list (see below) as well as milk tea, special mix, slushy, milk foam, fresh milk and matcha. They have a large selection of tea leaves to choose from, as well as flavors to add! If we want to eat, nearby are a newish Japanese noodle house, a Grand Dynasty Chinese restaurant, Cicero Pizza and IHOP. All are steps away.
We will be joined by Stan's Bay Area Hiking & Anything Fun group, https://www.meetup.com/AnythingFun
We realize people are coming from all over & it's rush hour, but it's Friday, so things might be fine. The place gets busy easily, but they have outdoor seating as well! Thank goodness it's Friday! If you're late, no worries, just drive carefully and get there. Don't text & drive.
This TeaTop is located in Orchard Farms Shopping Center in Cupertino. Park in the parking lot near the (closed) RiteAid and walk over.
It will be great to get us together to meet, get to know each other a little, and talk about hikes, bike rides, trips and "Anything Fun".
Please update your RSVP 24 hours before the event. Please do not no show or "crash". No +1. Members only.

SPECIAL: Crystal Springs 8-mile docent-led hike (San Mateo)
Hwy 92 & Hwy 35-Skyline Blvd, San Mateo, CA, USThis is a test to see if tea drinkers want to hike. :)
This is a special 8-mile out & back Crystal Springs hike!
We are taking a private tour of currently unopened land called Fifield-Cahill. These lands are closed to the public but we have received a special docent-led group opportunity to hike these lands.
We will be joined by Stan's Bay Area Hiking & Anything Fun group, https://www.meetup.com/AnythingFun
Route: Starting at cemetery gate and hiking to Pilarcitos Overlook and return. It's a great hike for experiencing the forests and the views. It is the only way to experience what's on the ridge when you look across Crystal Springs when driving along 280.
==========
Description from SFPUC:
Local nature lovers can enjoy the rare opportunity to hike through pristine stands of old growth Douglas Fir, evergreen and fragrant coastal scrub while enjoying ridge-top vistas of our watershed lands, reservoirs, the Pacific Ocean and San Francisco Bay.
The managed segment of the Fifield-Cahill Ridge Trail from Highway 92 to Sweeney Ridge is 10 miles long and connects with the 3.7 miles of the Sweeney Ridge Trail open to the public. The trail is a gravel service road with grades range from 0% to 21%. The steepest grade stretches 1.3 miles from Skyline Quarry (elevation 400') to Cemetery Gate (elevation 1050') on Cahill Ridge, with a vertical elevation change of 650'.

Restrooms are every 2 miles on the trail. Bring 1L water as there's no drinkable water on the trail, even though you can see a lot of water in the reservoir. Bring lunch for yourself and snacks to share. No cell coverage on the route.
Since we are guests on this private land, there are rules/requests:
Do not No-show. We don't want to waste any precious spots.

Have fun - enjoy the rare views - take photos for yourself. Feel free to put your photos on social media. Mention the owner, SF Public Utility Commission, has graciously allowed us this tour.
