About us
Hya we are a group of intermediate, moderate paced hikers that still have a long bucket list of trails we want to explore around the metro Vancouver area. We hike to enjoy the scenic views, have fun conversations, and take awesome photos/videos along the way. Come join us with your happy self, and lets check off our list together! ;)
*** This is not a fast hikers/workout group. Some events (ie shorter, easier trails) will be more suitable for slow hikers and would be specified under event description ;)

PLEASE REMEMBER TO ANSWER THE QUESTIONNAIRE IN ORDER TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS EVENT
Note: This will only be done if the weather forecast is awesome. Otherwise it will be postponed until another time.
The plan briefly is to backpack to the shoulder of the peak where there is apparently room for 5 tents according to another fellow hiker who was there more recently than I. This is just 150 meters under the summit where there are stellar views of Hope far below from far above. Haven't been there for many years. Looks a little more civilized now than when I last went. Noticed the flat makeshift camping area around the pond in photos sporting its own Loo with a view overlooking the township. At the top is a 360 of many summits near and far with a nice view south towards Silver and Ross Lakes in the Skagit Valley. Good place for a sunset and sunrise. The weather is supposed to be HOT this weekend. A four wheel drive is required to this trailhead. I just happen to have one and can carry 4 including myself.
Also check back the night before to make sure everything is good.

A Happy Face (:FOOD AND BEVERAGES AFTER HIKE:
Perhaps afterwards a bite to eat and drink at a local establishment to replenish those calories lost and to just shoot the breeze about the days highlights before heading back. Something I usually like to do. Open to suggestions.Carpooling:
Please carpool to events whenever possible. The high cost of gas and maintaining a vehicle make this a very sensible option for vehicle owners and allows those without a car to get to the events. While vehicle owners are free to set their own reasonable fee for carpooling, it is typically suggested that passengers offer the driver $10.00 per hour of driving (includes mileage and vehicle wear & tear). This is only a guideline and the driver may charge more or less depending on the situation. Please state in your RSVP whether you can offer a ride or need a ride, and where you will be coming from. Passengers, please ensure you show up on time and bring an extra bag for wet/muddy footwear and clothing. Also, please make every effort to get to a convenient pick up place for your driver!
Please do not leave carpooling arrangements until the last minute – you, not the event organizer, are responsible for arranging your own carpooling to events. Thanks!Disclaimer/Waiver:
BC Hiking Community on Meetup, is not a company, but an online community, run by its members. The Organizers are volunteers, not professional guides and their role is to coordinate the gathering of people at the appointed meeting place for the group to voluntarily take part in the organized Event. It is expected that you will show up to events prepared (first aid, proper footwear, clothing, 10 essentials etc.) and that you will be physically able to take part in the event. Also, please be aware that risks are inherent in all of the outdoor type activities that we take part in and if you are injured or worse, BC Hiking Community, or your event organizer, cannot be held responsible/liable in any way. The success of each event depends on the cooperation & efforts of every member who participates.
