What we’re about
Hya we are a group of intermediate, moderate paced hikers that still have a long bucket list of trails we want to explore around the metro Vancouver area. We hike to enjoy the scenic views, have fun conversations, and take awesome photos/videos along the way. Come join us with your happy self, and lets check off our list together! ;)
*** This is not a fast hikers/workout group. Some events (ie shorter, easier trails) will be more suitable for slow hikers and would be specified under event description ;)

Seymour New Years Eve Snow Camp
Location not specified yetSeymour New Years Snow Camp
Important Note:
This will only take place if the weather and conditions permit. So, weather watching a few days prior to New Years Eve. No rain or heavy snowing in other words. Have a backup plan just in case. Will be a small group due to lack of available space most likely. This will be good practice to see if you might up or a 3 day Crater Lake snowshoe backpacking circumnavigation in April. We can bring a couple of presto logs again this time too for the good ambience as well as some New Year's bubbly of course. (:
Please read the contents of this event in its entirety.
NOT A BEGINNER SNOWSHOE. DO NOT OVER-ESTIMATE YOUR ABILITIES.
There is no need to RSVP "No", if you are not attending. We only need to know who IS attending. The "No" feature is there for people who need to change their RSVP.
PLEASE REMEMBER TO ANSWER THE QUESTIONNAIRE IN ORDER TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS EVENT
What better way to start the New Year then under the clear starry skies over-looking our beautiful world class city. Looking for a few others to share the wintery wonderland at a hopefully quiet location away from the crowds in the backcountry of Seymour Mountain. You must be self sufficient of course. If you wish to build a snow cave instead of tenting then don't forget your probe and shovel. Maybe a hand saw too. We won't be traveling through any avalanche terrain. However with all this heavy snow we are getting pounded with currently on the local hills the trees should be sporting a nice thick coat of the white stuff for this New Years. Bring your cameras. Temps will be chilly overnight so be prepared with your warm sleeping system.

FOOD AND BEVERAGES AFTER HIKE:
Perhaps afterwards a bite to eat and drink at a local establishment to replenish those calories lost and to just shoot the breeze about the days highlights before heading back. Something I usually like to do. Open to suggestions.

Carpooling:
Please carpool to events whenever possible. The high cost of gas and maintaining a vehicle make this a very sensible option for vehicle owners and allows those without a car to get to the events. While vehicle owners are free to set their own reasonable fee for carpooling, it is typically suggested that passengers offer the driver $8.00 per hour of driving (includes mileage and vehicle wear & tear). This is only a guideline and the driver may charge more or less depending on the situation. Please state in your RSVP whether you can offer a ride or need a ride, and where you will be coming from. Passengers, please ensure you show up on time and bring an extra bag for wet/muddy footwear and clothing. Also, please make every effort to get to a convenient pick up place for your driver!
Please do not leave carpooling arrangements until the last minute – you, not the event organizer, are responsible for arranging your own carpooling to events. Thanks!
