Claimstake Mountain (Manning Park Area)

Please read the contents of this event in its entirety.

Details
This trail begins as a road walk from the parking lot and continues following the fsr before eventually turning off into the bush and forest where the real climbing begins. There is NO trail at this point. A gps track from the trip report below is necessary to have. I'm hoping that there is still enough snow to cover most of the bushy lower elevation but there is no guarantees of that. So only hardy types should attempt doing this. Definitely not for beginner's. The views from the top are outstanding with all the local monsters like Silvertip, Hozomeen, Silverdaisy, and all the large US Peaks nearby. This is located right next door to Silverdaisy and Eastpoint Peaks. If another vehicle is available there could be 2 or 3 others with backcountry snow/scramblin experience added. Please answer the questionnaire in full if I don't know you already. Thanks

There is no need to RSVP "No", if you are not attending. We only need to know who IS attending. The "No" feature is there for people who need to change their RSVP.

(THIS IS NOT A BEGINNER EVENT. DO NOT OVER-ESTIMATE YOUR ABILITIES PLEASE).

Be sure to answer the questionnaire in order to be considered for this event

Note: At the moment the forecast looks pretty decent. Should the weather change then a postponement would be implemented or a change of venue. Has 360 degree viewing of the surrounding peaks. Should be a beautiful day for a spring like snowshoe. Must have a minimum of 3 or 4 to make this happen.

Safety:
While we will look out for each other on the hike please remember that you are ultimately responsible for your own safety so come prepared for the hike. Ensure you leave a trip plan with a responsible person, explaining your destination, the route you are taking, who is with you, and your return time.
It is the responsibility of everyone on the event to do their own research and come prepared. Do not expect the organizer to know everything about the hike, or that they are the leader or guide.

Carpooling:
It is suggested that passengers offer the driver $10.00 per hour of driving (includes mileage and vehicle wear & tear). This is a guideline, and the driver may charge more or less depending on the situation.

Disclaimer/Waiver:
BC Hiking Community Meetup, is not a company, but an online community, run by its members. The Organizers are volunteers, not professional guides and their role is to coordinate the gathering of people at the appointed meeting place for the group to voluntarily take part in the organized Event.
It is expected that you will show up to events prepared (first aid, proper footwear, clothing, 10 essentials etc.) and that you will be physically able to take part in the event. Also, please be aware that risks are inherent in all of the outdoor type activities that we take part in and if you are injured or worse, BC Peaks & Trails, or your event organizer, cannot be held responsible/liable in any way. Although we always make an effort to look out for one another to the best of our ability, each of us is nevertheless responsible for our own safety and well-being during every event. By R.S.V.P.'ing "yes" for this event, you acknowledge and accept these terms.

FOOD AND BEVERAGES AFTER HIKE: Perhaps afterwards a bite to eat and drink at a local establishment to replenish those calories lost and to just shoot the breeze about the days highlights before heading back. Something I usually like to do. Open to suggestions.
