Why We Bring Yoga to Behavioral Fitness
At Behavioral Fitness, movement has always been an essential part of wellbeing — and yoga has been at the heart of that vision since the very beginning. We’ve been supporting free community yoga since 2019, beginning in Arbolado Park, and now, with the support of the generous donors of PEACE (Providing Easier Access to Care Everywhere) — a registered 501(c)(3)nonprofit — we’re able to bring these offerings into our beautiful studio space.
We have long believed in the transformative power of yoga. The research is compelling, and its value is undeniable. Yoga supports physical strength and flexibility, but just as importantly, it helps calm the nervous system, increase awareness, and cultivate balance from within.
Access matters. Many people have never had a truly safe, welcoming place to try yoga — to learn not only the movements, but also the deeper principles of mindfulness, self-compassion, and connection that make yoga such a powerful practice.
Our goal at Behavioral Fitness is to change that. By offering yoga and other wellness experiences at below-market rates, made possible through PEACE’s generous donors, we’re creating opportunities for people to explore movement, healing, and community in ways that are both accessible and meaningful.
How you can help:
• Show up — for yourself and your community.
• Share our offerings with others so more people benefit- help spread the word - it’s the greatest gift!
• Support PEACE and Behavioral Fitness so we can continue to grow and reach more people.
Together, we’re building something bright, local, and deeply needed — a community of care where everyone belongs.

Qigong (chee-gong) at The Be-Fit Studio
Behavioral Fitness, 1399 Ygnacio Valley Rd., Suite 26, Walnut Creek, CA, USRegister Here
Call or Text to let us know you're coming: (925) 818-8062Qigong: Slow Down. Breathe. Reconnect.
We are pleased to offer this Qigong class with Bry Jones as included with Be-Fit Memberships
Qigong is an ancient Chinese mind-body-spirit practice that uses slow, continuous movement, breath, and awareness to cultivate vital energy—or qi.
In Bry’s class, there is no pressure to perform and nothing to perfect. You’ll be invited to move in a way that feels good in your own body, beginning with gentle movements and gradually exploring balance, mobility, breath, and mindful movement.
Qigong may help you feel calmer and more grounded, improve balance and joint mobility, deepen your connection to your breath, and simply feel more present in your body.
No experience is necessary. All bodies are welcome. Come as you are.
Sometimes, slow is powerful.
About the Instructor:
Bryony “Bry” Jones is a certified Qigong teacher who believes deeply in the power of slowing down, reconnecting with the body, and creating space for more ease and vitality.
After spending many years living and working in Asia, Bry discovered a deeper connection to nature, movement, creativity, and ultimately Qigong—a practice that became a central part of her own life. She completed her 200-hour Qigong teacher training through Forest Rock School and continues to study Tai Chi while maintaining a daily Qigong practice.
Bry brings warmth, curiosity, and gentleness to her teaching. Her hope is simple: to create a welcoming space where every body feels comfortable exploring movement, breath, balance, and the healing practice of Qigong.1 attendee - $20.00

Balance and Mobility (55+) at Behavioral Fitness
Behavioral Fitness, 1399 Ygnacio Valley Rd., Suite 26, Walnut Creek, CA, USRegister Here
Call or Text to let us know you're coming: (925) 818-8062Level 1 – Gentle & Supportive (45 min)
Move with greater ease, confidence, and stability.
Balance & Mobility is a nurse-designed focused on helping you feel safe and supported in your body. The pace is gentle and thoughtful, with attention to your cardiovascular capacity and nervous system.
Each class includes:- A gentle warm-up and simple movement flow
- Balance and light strength exercises
- Chair-supported stations for safety and ease
- An optional freestyle movement moment set to a fun, familiar song
- A calming, grounded close (like resting at the end of yoga)
This class is about feeling safe in your movement.
Everything is a suggestion. You’re encouraged to modify, rest, and move at your own pace.
Perfect for beginners, those returning to movement, or anyone wanting a supportive environment.
Don’t wait until you can’t get off the floor.
After age 30, we lose up to 5% of muscle mass per decade. That means less strength, slower reaction time, and a higher risk of falls—the leading cause of injury for older adults. But aging doesn’t have to mean losing your footing. With intentional movement and focused training, you can maintain and even rebuild balance, coordination, and mobility. It's never too late to start.
This is more than fall prevention. It’s about training today for the freedom to move tomorrow, next year, and decades down the line. Regular physical activity is one of the most effective ways to extend your healthspan—the years you stay healthy, active, and able to live life on your own terms.
Join us in the Behavioral Fitness studio—where parking is easy, natural light fills the room, and the vibe lifts you up. This is your time to stay upright, energized, and in a safe, supportive community.
Meet Your Instructor
Teri DeLaMontanya is a Registered Nurse and former Director of Emergency Services at John Muir Health. She’s spent decades in the trenches—seeing what happens when people lose their strength, their balance, and their mobility. And she’s lived it herself.
As an Ironman triathlon finisher, two-time John Muir Trail thru-hiker, and seasoned adventure racer, Teri knows what it means to push a body to its limits. And after multiple injuries of her own, she knows what it feels like when that body breaks down—when movement becomes painful, or impossible. She knows the fear, the frustration, the hard climb back.
That’s why this work matters to her. She’s seen, over and over again, how quickly we can lose the ability to do what we love—and how life-changing it is to get it back.
Today, as a nutrition, lifestyle, and grief coach, co-founder of Behavioral Fitness, and co-facilitator of Everyday Strength at Behavioral Fitness, Teri helps people stay strong enough to keep living on their own terms. She is also the co-founder of a 501(c)(3) non-profit: Providing Easier Access to Care Everywhere (PEACE). Part of the mission of PEACE is to re-define access and re-define care by not waiting until there's a crisis. The time to invest in your well-being is now. Teri brings not just medical training, but lived experience—passion, and deep, hard-earned understanding.
Teri doesn’t just teach this. She’s been through it. And she’ll meet you exactly where you are with compassion and care.1 attendee - $20.00
