What we’re about
If you enjoy being active, social and meeting new friends then this is the group for you! We welcome active, healthy, positive, upbeat, fun folks. Event Organizers will help you to connect by making time for introductions at which time members can also share something fun or interesting about themselves.
Membership: In order to be accepted as a member of Beach Cities Active, your profile needs to show a clear photo of your face and you need to include your full name. Alternatively, you can privately message me you last name.
Events: To attend any Beach Cities Active Event, you must r.s.v.p. for each event each week. If you want to bring a friend, have them become a member of Beach Cities Active and have them rsvp as well. If you are attending an event for the first time, you need to arrive early or on time as I will not necessarily be available to provide much guidance once an event has started. If you cannot arrive early or on time to your 1st event, then please text me at (310) 809-2011 the day before the event so I can go over the basics with you.
If you are unable to make an outing, please update your rsvp; do not text me unless you are running late for a SUP/Kayak/Cycle outing. Three no shows and you will be dropped from the group.
Our events are not appropriate for minors, so please leave the kiddos with a sitter.
Goal: Have fun & be social! We love stand up paddle boarding / kayaking, cycling, Pickleball , live music, art and backyard barbecues & parties. Outdoor activities are moderate to fast paced. You do need to stretch out before all outdoor activities which include rests to take photos & have water. Some events are followed by more social time at local eateries. In order to broaden our geographic reach and offer even more activities, Beach Cities Active frequently invites other meetup groups to cross post their events to our page so if you want to know how many are attending, do visit the page of the organizer who posted the event.
We believe that constructive feedback from our members is the lifeblood of the our group. As such, members are encouraged to suggest ideas for new activities or ways to make our existing activities even better. When you join, please let us know your best availability for activities & which activities most interest you. Also let us know if you are interested in co-leading a group
To ensure the health of our members, we do request that you be fully vaccinated & fully boosted; no exceptions.
Your r.s.v.p. to these events indicates your acknowledgement that our events are intended for those in very good health & good physical condition, that you have cleared with your doctor your fitness for the activity being offered and that you agree to hold harmless the Meetup organizers of Beach Cities Active for any injuries, illnesses, lost or stolen items which could potentially occur on our events. Beach Cities Active does not certify the expertise of the organizers, the assistant organizers or event organizers. That said, we will keep an eye on you & offer assistance to avoid any mishap on our events.

MEDITATION
We have heard and read of the positive benefits from Meditation. Meditation can help slow the mind and open the heart. The only thing we control is our attitude. Personal changes and transformation are an ‘Inside Job’. Go within as we attract not what we want but what we are.
Physical Benefits of Meditation
With meditation, the physiology undergoes a change and every cell in the body is filled with more energy. This results in joy, peace, enthusiasm as the level of energy in the body increases.
On a physical level, meditation:
· Lowers high blood pressure
· Lowers the levels of blood lactate, reducing anxiety attacks
· Decreases tension-related pain, such as, tension headaches, ulcers, insomnia, muscle and joint problems
· Increases serotonin production that improves mood and behavior
· Improves the immune system
· Increases the energy level, as you gain an inner source of energy
Mental Benefits of Meditation
Meditation brings the brainwave pattern into a relaxed state that promotes healing. The mind becomes fresh, delicate and beautiful. With regular practice of meditation:
· Anxiety decreases
· Emotional stability improves
· Creativity increases
· Happiness increases
· Intuition develops
· Gain clarity
· Problems become smaller
Meditation sharpens the mind by increasing focus and expands through relaxation
A sharp mind without expansion causes tension, anger and frustration
An expanded consciousness without sharpness can lead to lack of action/progress
The balance of a sharp mind and an expanded consciousness brings perfection
Meditation makes you aware - that your inner attitude determines your happiness. - MEMORIAL DAY BIKE OCEAN TRAILS – EZ RENTALS - CASUAL BICYCLING - SOCIAL EXERCISEGalley Cafe, Newport Beach, CA
