📌Volleyball Game Rules

• Max 3 hits per team
• A block does not count as one of the 3 hits
• Encourage passing or setting the ball to your team mates
• No double hits (except after a block)
• No touching the net
• Serve behind the line
• Ball out = point to other team
• No catching, kicking or throwing the ball
• Rotate when your team wins the serve from the opponents
• If your team is already serving and wins the point → no rotation
• Communication is encouraged to avoid collisions (Say mine! or my ball)
• No interference or distraction of the opposing team
• Fix the net if loosen
• Play safe and communicate with team mates
• Help setup/pack up the nets and balls
• Do not lose any pins

We will be playing 6v6, 5v5, 4v4 at Coogee Beach on rotation so that everyone who attends gets a chance to play. We will have 2-3 nets for everyone.
Winning team stays, losing team allow next team to play. Or both teams allow next teams to play if we have a lot of people waiting.

The idea is to play the game and go to a restaurant/bar after for more socialising, game activities.

(Bring shoes, passport or driver license to get into any venue)

Beach Burrito Co or Chargrill Charlie's Coogee, or Coogee Hotel, Coogee Pavillion for food and drinks.
6:30/6:45pm-9:30pm Dinner (Non Daylight Savings Time)
8:15pm-10:00pm Dinner (Daylight Savings Time)
Extra: Bring card games or any other game ideas for during dinner or after dinner to make socialising more fun.

Those who want to bring food and drinks at the beach to enjoy during the game are free to do so, do not throw your rubbish on the beach, take your rubbish with you or bin it.

🎒What to bring with you
Water, sunscreen, hat and jacket in case of unexpected weather.
SHOES*, ID or PASSPORT** to enter to any venue in Coogee.

🪧Safety: For your safety, please look after one another and ensure you and others are safe and comfortable.

🎚️All Levels
Beginners, intermediate and advanced players are welcome.
Those who attend and waiting for the next game, introduce, socialise and get to know as many people as you can. Be kind and respectful.

💚Beginners
Are encouraged to spend the first 15-30 minutes practice serving, passing, hand/arm positioning, spiking the ball with intermediate/advance players. Raise hands and let us know if you are a beginner. Organisers and other players will be happy to do a quick practice with you. We may allocate you to a beginner/intermediate net.

🌅All Seasons
We play winter, summer, spring and autumn.
Sunny, Cloudy, Windy or Rainy

🎫Event Fee
Event Fee is free but sometimes we collect $ from each attendees to help pay meetup cost, buy new nets, balls & other equipment for the events.

⌚Be Early

️🏠Follow Rules:
1. Respect each other's boundaries, opinions, backgrounds, races, gender, religions, and beliefs.

2. Avoid any cancellation, or if you must, notify the host 1+ day prior to the event.

3. All RSPVed members must attend the event. Be sure to clear your schedule on this day.

4. We promote a positive and fun environment, you must remain respectful and friendly to all the members in the group. We want members to feel safe and comfortable.

5. Do not throw rubbish, maintain the beach clean, carry your own rubbish with you when you leave the area.

6. You are responsible for your safety and the safety of others.

7. Sydney Beach Events will not be liable for any health issues, damaged or injuries that may happened during the event. You will be playing/attending at your own risk.

8. For your own safety, swimming at the beach is not part of this event, if you are going for a swim, swim between the flags & with friends. Swimming alone at the beach is not recommended. If you cannot swim do not swim. You will be swimming at your own risk.

9. Report any suspicious activities, crossing boundaries, negative remarks, criticisms, violence & any misbehavior. Reports will be taken into consideration, serious offenders will be banned from the group and all our social platforms or reported to authorities. It will be mentioned in the group that you are banned if it comes to that decision.

10. Enjoy, make friends, build lasting friendship, build trust and always ask for consent.

11. Always be safe and the people around you.

12. If any emergencies call 000 for Police/Ambulance.

13. Avoid hatred, no discrimination of any sort, no racism, no put down, no conflicts or fights.

14. Act or lead by good example for the benefits of the community.

15. No violence or aggressive behaviour.

16. No critisizing others, no negative comments.

17. Failure to follow rules, and serious offences you will be let go/removed/banned from all our platforms - meetup, whatsapp group and other social media. If you are banned your named will be mentioned in the group chat that you are banned. Please be careful with your words, actions towards each other.

Reports will be taken into consideration. We will maintain your privacy.

Volleyball Competition, Dinner & Drinks

ℹ️ Game plan

Competition 3:30pm - 7:30pm
Dinner 7:45pm

The idea is to have fun and win a price $$ in a competition.

We will be having a competition and 1 team will win a price at the end and the winning price is 70% of the total entry fees. 30% percent will go towards our group budget.

You will be in a team of 5 players or less or more.
Choosing a team - randomly counted by the organiser, if your number is #2 then you will be playing with a player who is counted as #2 and compete with other team.

If your team wins then you will compete with the other winning team. Will play a game from last winning team until the end of competition. Losing team will not have a chance to win.

We cannot always determine how many people attending, some will arrive early and some will arrive a little later. Late comers will still have chance to be in the competition. But you must arrive 15 mins early before the game.

Depending on how many players in a last winning team. If your team have won the final game and no late comers to challenge you during the competition period. Your team automatically win the price.

We want to make sure every attendees gets a chance to play the competition.

If you are late, you will be registered to be in a team and you will be competing with the people who already won the game to win the price and must win higher points than the winning team. If the team your competing against has already won once or your late arrival team must won more than the other team your competing with.

To make it fair, new team points is 0 until your team has won and gain a point. So if you have been playing and your team has won a game of first to 21 scores during the battle your team gets a point of 1. Your team point goes up every time your team wins.

📃 Game Rules
- Score first to 21 points
- No kicking or head butting the ball, will make the other team score
- Serving the ball must be outside the line
- No touching the net at all times
- No blocking a serve
- Can only pass the ball twice, third must hit the ball towards the opposing team (total 3 hits) if 4 hits will make the other team score
- When the ball drops outside the court line is out, on the line or in the court line is in
- 1 team reached match point to win
- if both teams reached match point, score two more points to win
- if your team lost once your team is out of competition and you are not allowed to join other team to compete or form a new team

📃 Winning Cases
Case #1 - last winning team of 6 people, will win the price at the end if only no more late comers to challenge your team.

Case #2 - last winning team of 5 people. automatically win the price if only no more late comers to challenge your team.

Case #3 - last winning of 4 people will win the price at the end if only no more late comers to challenge your team.

Case #4 - last winning team of 3 people, So 3 people automatically win the price if only no more late comers to challenge your team.

$30 competition fee cash or payID

30% goes to meetup cost, equipment and game management
Our attendees numbers usually around 30 to 100+ people RSVP per event. Last competition had 40+ people.

So if we have 40 attendees, each pay $30 competition fee that's a total fees of $1,200 dollars. Not always the case!

70% of that fees is the winning price and 30% set aside for game management, equipment and meetup cost. So $1,200*0.70= $840 is the total winning price divided by your team players and will be paid in cash or payID after the game.

The other 30% is to cover the meetup cost, equipment, nets, balls, photos, videos and music and further improve and manage our events.

Losing teams is out of competition, and can continue to play for social games.

Sydney Beach Events/We are NOT liable for any injuries, health issues or damage costs. You are playing at your own risk.

First aid kit will be available if needed.

👜 What to bring with you
Lots of Water, sunscreen, SHOES, ID or passport to enter to any venue in Coogee.

🏖️ What we will have during this event
3 Gazebos for sun cover, JBL speaker, nets & balls, and some water.

3. You must remain friendly & respectful to ALL players & event host.

4. You must listen to host game plan & directions. please ask questions if you must.

7. We promote a positive and fun environment, you must remain respectful and friendly to all the members in the group. We want members to feel safe and comfortable.

Beginners, intermediate and advanced players are welcome.
Those who attend and waiting for the next game, introduce, socialise and get to know as many people as you can. Be kind and respectful.

💚Beginners
Are encouraged to spend the first 15-30 minutes practice serving, passing, hand/arm positioning, spiking the ball with intermediate/advance players. Raise hands and let us know if you are a beginner. Organisers and other players will be happy to do a quick practice with you. We may allocate you to a beginner/intermediate net.

🌅All Seasons
We play winter, summer, spring and autumn.
Sunny, Cloudy, Windy or Rainy

🎫Event Fee
Event Fee is free but sometimes we collect $ from each attendees to help pay meetup cost, buy new nets, balls & other equipment for the events.

⌚Be Early

Organiser/s may arrived early or late depending on the car park situation.

️🏠Follow Rules:
1. Respect each other's boundaries, opinions, backgrounds, races, gender, religions, and beliefs.

2. Avoid any cancellation, or if you must, notify the host 1+ day prior to the event.

3. All RSPVed members must attend the event. Be sure to clear your schedule on this day.

4. We promote a positive and fun environment, you must remain respectful and friendly to all the members in the group. We want members to feel safe and comfortable.

5. Do not throw rubbish, maintain the beach clean, carry your own rubbish with you when you leave the area.

6. You are responsible for your safety and the safety of others.

7. Sydney Beach Events will not be liable for any health issues, damaged or injuries that may happened during the event. You will be playing/attending at your own risk.

8. For your own safety, swimming at the beach is not part of this event, if you are going for a swim, swim between the flags & with friends. Swimming alone at the beach is not recommended. If you cannot swim do not swim. You will be swimming at your own risk.

9. Report any suspicious activities, crossing boundaries, negative remarks, criticisms, violence & any misbehavior. Reports will be taken into consideration, serious offenders will be banned from the group and all our social platforms or reported to authorities. It will be mentioned in the group that you are banned if it comes to that decision.

10. Enjoy, make friends, build lasting friendship, build trust and always ask for consent.

11. Always be safe and the people around you.

12. If any emergencies call 000 for Police/Ambulance.

13. Avoid hatred, no discrimination of any sort, no racism, no put down, no conflicts or fights.

14. Act or lead by good example for the benefits of the community.

15. No violence or aggressive behaviour.

16. No critisizing others, no negative comments.

17. Failure to follow rules, and serious offences you will be let go/removed/banned from all our platforms - meetup, whatsapp group and other social media. If you are banned your named will be mentioned in the group chat that you are banned. Please be careful with your words, actions towards each other.

Reports will be taken into consideration. We will maintain your privacy.

When you arrived at Coogee beach, head to the north side of the beach near the small boats and find the blue net called “Copaya” or yellow net.

Toilets: At the back of Coogee Kiosks, next to the bus stop or at the park North side of the beach.
