About us

This group aims to gather philosophy readers on the west side (Beaverton, Hillsboro, Cornelius, Forest Grove), so we can discuss what we read at our nice library locations and not suffer from the downtown Portland traffic.

Let's Read The Antichrist by Nietzsche
Sat, Oct 10 · 3:00 PM PDT
Hillsboro Brookwood Library, 2850 NE Brookwood Pkwy, Hillsboro, OR 97124, USA, Hillsboro, OR, US
What Nietzsche saw and predicted about western civilization through human psychology will never be outdated. It is high time we mustered our courage to look at ressentiment and guilt in the face, and asked ourselves where these sentiments will truly take us.

Let's read The first half of The Antichrist (sections 1-30). Any version of translation is okay since Nietzsche is considered a great writer in German. If you don't have a hard copy of the book, you can read it online here: https://www.gutenberg.org/cache/epub/19322/pg19322-images.html

We will meet at the Hillsboro Brookwood Library on the second floor in conference room B. We will discuss our thoughts.
