What we’re about

Welcome to "Becoming Men", a community offering for men seeking to build healthy and long-lasting relationships by healing our core masculine wounds. We aim to create a safe space for men to discover, express, and relate with one another, while also building deep, meaningful masculine friendships - something that many of us have been missing. We believe that in order for society to heal, men must receive support from other men. By discovering ourselves and supporting other men, we will slowly heal all types of relationships in our lives - with our friends, at our work, with our family, our intimate lovers, and within our greater community. We invite you to take this journey of friendship and brotherhood with us.

MEMBER EVENTS
If after this meet-and-greet you want to keep exploring masculine support with us, then here are some of the other types of events you can expect:

  • Book Studies: Every two months, we will meet to discuss a book specifically chosen to help integrate and heal our masculine and feminine energies. Our first book will be called "No More Mr. Nice Guy" by Dr. Robert Glover. We will have a few copies available for purchase at the BBQ, or you can purchase here.
  • Social Activities: As men, we like to have fun! In between book club meetings, we do social activities like rage rooms, hikes, rock-climbing, dancing, karaoke, archery, and more!
  • Small Groups: Sometimes the only way to connect on the deepest level is in smaller groups. Our small groups would be hosted by members who want to connect on a more intimate level, perhaps over dinner in emotionally supportive environments.

Our plan is to meet at least once a month to provide consistent touch points, and to allow our friendships to blossom.

It is our hope you will find:

  • Expanded relational awareness
  • Deeper, more meaningful and intimate connections with yourself and other men
  • The potential to begin shifting lifelong relational patterns and blocks, especially around masculine and feminine dynamics
  • Improvement in the way you show up in the world and in all kinds of relationships

A word on safety...
We are here to provide an emotionally safe, confidential, and inclusive place for ourselves and other men to open up emotionally, grow, and learn. Please be respectful of each other and hold space for each other to show up authentically. We believe that all men, just as they are, are worthy of love, respect, and empathy. We strive to become the best men we can be, all the while refraining from guilt, shame or insults around our past, present, or future. If you cannot meet these basic guidelines, we may respectfully ask you to leave.

    BECOMING MEN
"Becoming Men" is a community offering for men seeking to build healthy and long-lasting relationships. Through support from other men, it is our goal to take the journey together into manhood.

What to expect at this event?
We will provide space for discussion and exploration of ourselves within this current season of life. How do we harvest the fruits of the year (mental, emotional, and spiritual)? How do we let go of old patterns? And how do we rest, recover, and slow down in this season? These questions will be explored through guided activities and discussion!

It is our hope you will find:

    • A community of supportive men and friendships
    • A safe place to be yourself and belong, as we learn to remove our shame and guilt of being a man
    • A place to discover your own relationship to your masculine ideals, values, and principles
    • The courage to embrace a healthy sense of masculinity and balance with the feminine in your life.

    COST
Hooked on Colfax has been gracious to provide the space, so please be sure to purchase a beverage and/or food to support our host.
This event is free to attend. If you find value in the event, donations are appreciated to support our group. Donations are welcome but not required.
