What we’re about

Welcome to Becoming Confident Speakers through Shellbusters Toastmasters Club! We provide workshops that help people who are shy or experience anxiety in public speaking or social situations, come out of their shell in a supportive and fun environment.

Public Speaking: Do you have a fear of public speaking? Does the idea of giving a presentation at school or work terrify you? Do you freeze and clam up if confronted with speaking at a dinner party, a work meeting, casual classroom discussion... or anything that involves having the spotlight and attention on you? Then this group may be for you! Our regular Shellbusters Toastmasters Club that meets every Friday night provides an opportunity for you to overcome your fears of public speaking in a fun and supportive environment. In this group you will learn new skills and get plenty of public speaking practice and feedback so that you can enter those situations with confidence! We encourage you to visit our club as a guest to see what it's like. Although Shellbusters Toastmasters Club has a public speaking focus, many have found it really helpful for building confidence overall, not just in public speaking situations.

Social Situations: Do you feel shy or experience social anxiety in social situations and want to become more confident? We offer a variety of workshops to help reduce anxiety and develop confidence in social situations.

Join one of our regular Shellbusters Toastmasters Club meetings that meets virtually every Friday night!

Also, check out these affiliated meetup groups:  Out of Your Shell meetup (for fun social activities) and The Toronto Shyness & Social Anxiety Support Group meetup (for a regular Saturday support group discussions) where we've offered workshops on anything from formal presentations on overcoming fear and anxiety, making small talk, improv classes, yoga classes, self-exploratory 3D collage workshops, Gestalt therapy workshops, drumming, and stage fright classes.
