We will meet outside the Royal Canadian Military Institute for our 1 hour Museum and Library tour at 10 am sharp!

Nearest TTC station is St. Patrick
Nearest Green P parking is at City Hall.

Six floors of display space and galleries throughout the Institute, possesses one of the most exceptional and complete collections of firearms, uniforms, and medal sets in the world. This includes the most diverse and complete collection of Canadian First World War uniforms in existence.

At 11:30ish, we will go to the Duke of Cornwall for a pint and an early lunch on their patio.

At 12:30ish we will cross University Avenue at Armory Street, to take in some sculptures to Justice as we make our way to Osgoode Hall.

At Osgoode Hall, our tour will begin at 1:15 pm

Tours usually include visits to:

  • The Atrium, with its geometric tile floor and stained glass skylights, monumental portraiture of Chief Justices of past centuries, its touching war memorial, and its architecture reminiscent of an Italian palazzo
  • A solemn 19th century courtroom
  • The Great Library, with a classical reading room, a 40-foot high ceiling, spectacular ornamental plaster, a war memorial, and a magnificent spiral staircase in the American Room
  • The East Wing, in use since 1832 - one of the oldest buildings in Canada that is still in the hands of its original owner and used for its original purpose
  • Convocation Hall, with looks and style that seem to come straight from the Harry Potter movies

At 2:15ish we will walk East towards the Spirit Garden at Nathan Phillips Square.

The Spirit Garden also incorporates diverse elements that represent First Nations, Inuit and Métis cultures, such as a Teaching Lodge, an amphitheatre, a Three Sisters seasonal garden, a Two Row Wampum walkway and more.
