YANCHEP NATIONAL PARK - Wetlands Trail, Visitor Centre, & Lunch
Details
WETLANDS TRAIL
Isn't this just the best weather for hiking and what better place to hike than within the wildness of a national park!
This hike is the first of several cooler-weather hikes for 2026. Come along and join our regular walkers for a relaxed hike around the most attractive and popular trail in Yanchep National Park - the Wetlands Trail.
We'll meet on the front steps of Yanchep Inn from 9.45am. The hike begins promptly at 10am.
The Wetlands Trail is well shaded, circumnavigating Lake McNess. We'll pass through the tall reed foliage known as Bulrush Yanget - the namesake of Yanchep. Other sites include the remains of an historical dredge and its rail system, water themed sculptures, snake gully, valuable and aged trees, and sweeping lawns with wetland and dry bush views. Kangaroos, cockies and water fowl frequent the area.
Following our walk we'll head to the Visitor Centre to see what's new, and for those who can stay on, a coffee/light lunch at 'Chocolate Drops'.
If you have friends who enjoy a casual hike and the company of others, please bring them along.
You will need an 'Annual' Park Pass to enter Yanchep National Park for this event and others to follow. Passes are available for a small cost on-line or at the Park entrance.
Hoping to see you then,
