Build Generative AI Services with Azure at Microsoft Reactor - Free Workshop

Details

Are you ready to build production-grade Generative AI applications? In this hands-on code-along workshop, you'll learn how to design, build, and deploy AI-powered services using FastAPI in Microsoft Azure.

Based on content from Building Generative AI Services with FastAPI (O'Reilly, 2025), this session will guide you through integrating AI models that process while seamlessly interacting with databases, filesystems, websites, and APIs.

Whether you're a web developer, data scientist, or DevOps engineer, this session will equip you with the practical skills needed to build scalable, real-time AI applications.

We'll cover:

  • Build AI services that interact with databases, files, and APIs
  • Learn to deploy private Azure OpenAI Deployments
  • Build a Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) chatbot that can talk to your documents and the web
  • Stream AI outputs to a streamlit User Interface
  • Deploy AI microservices using Docker to Microsoft Azure

Prereq:

  • Access to Microsoft Azure (Trial or Paid Account)
  • While you won't need prior experience in building generative AI services, we'll assume some familiarity with Python programming language.
  • Familiarity with APIs and AI concepts is helpful but not required
  • Bring your laptop for the follow along coding session
  • Laptop with Python 3.9+, FastAPI, and Docker installed (setup guide will be provided)

All other concepts will be explained in this class at a high level without diving into mathematical details which can be covered in future classes.

Spaces are limited to 30 in-person attendees for this free workshop. You will need to register on eventbrite to secure your seat - first come first served.
