What we're about

Welcome! Our group is dedicated to providing resources for people who are vegan or interested in becoming vegan.

While you need not be vegan or vegetarian to join this group, please be sincerely interested in learning more about veganism.

If you are interested in a mentor to assist you on your journey, check out the Vegan Mentor Program HERE (https://veganoutreach.org/vegan-mentorship-program/).

Also, check out "Living a Whole Food, Plant-Based Life (https://nutritionstudies.org/whole-food-plant-based-diet-guide)". Scroll to the bottom and sign up for a free 7 day KICKSTART! Thank you for the tip, Steve.

Thank you for your interest in our Meetup! We look forward to seeing you soon.

- The Vegetarian Society of Richmond + RVA Vegan volunteers

Please note that many of our potluck events are sponsored by the Vegetarian Society of Richmond(VSR). VSR was founded in 1995 by Lois Angeletti, years before being vegan was as cool + as common as it is today! Please note that most of the VSR potlucks do require a $3 fee to cover the cost of the venue while also supporting the Society’'s expenses including activities and outreach such as the Richmond VegFest, the Health Expo, + the Pet Expo.

Join us for a presentation by Paul & Abbie Storey on becoming vegan & potluck!

When: Saturday, June 20th, 2020 Where: Friends Meeting House, 4500 Kensington Ave. (Kensington & Commonwealth Aves.) Cost: $3.00 Time: 6:00 p.m. potluck; 7:00 p.m. program Paul embraced the vegan lifestyle in the Fall of 2010, while deployed in Iraq. His journey with veganism took him on many twists and turns, through two deployments and into his post-army life. He met his wife, Abbie, while in college after leaving the military. They bonded over their love of animals immediately. Abbie has been vegetarian since elementary school, defiantly going against her family's history in the cattle and animal agriculture industry. They will be discussing their personal experiences becoming vegans, both the first in their family to do so, the challenges brought, and the joy a plant based diet gives them." THE MEETING HOUSE HAS A LIMIT ON ATTENDENCE. YOU MUST LET US KNOW IF YOU PLAN TO ATTEND. THANK YOU. Please remember to update your RSVP if you cannot make it so that we know how many tables to set up. Please bring a vegan dish to share, your own place setting, and list of ingredients. *** Please plan to stay for the entire talk out of respect for the presenter and so not to disturb others. Email Lois by Friday, June 19th for information at [masked] or see www.vegetarianrichmond.org.
