Hey everyone! Join us for the very first Belfast NetSec meetup. A new, friendly community in Belfast for cybersecurity, ethical hacking, networking, and practical hands-on skills.

We'll keep it relaxed: pizza, social chats, and jumping straight into beginner-friendly OSINT (digital detective work) and packet analysis with Wireshark. No gatekeeping, all for complete beginners and more experienced folks are welcome!

The Plan:

6:30 PM: Pizza, drinks & casual networking meet the group and share what topics you'd like to see next (Wireshark deeper dives, home labs, CTFs, etc.).

7:00 PM: Hands-on practical labs start OSINT tasks first, then seeing how data moves across a network with Wireshark.

8:30 PM: Wrap up and final chats.

If we find a local speaker or co-host, they'll give a short 10-15 min intro; otherwise, I'll guide some simple exercises step-by-step.

What to bring:

A laptop (highly recommended) so you can follow the OSINT challenges and Wireshark labs live.
Wireshark (free to download and install from wireshark.org if you can).
Any security tools, home lab projects, or questions you're working on.

If the technical labs aren't your thing yet, that's totally fine, come anyway for the pizza and conversations about tech, security, and networking in Belfast.

We are also looking for a co-host or speaker!

I'm also happy to share the organising load. If you'd like to give a short beginner-friendly intro on OSINT or basic Wireshark (or help facilitate), reply to this event or message me, it would be great to team up!
