Newtownabbey Way from Whiteabbey
Details
NOTE: we are meeting at Whiteabbey Pay Car Park (not Corrs Corner)
Walk grade: Leisurely (see guide below)
At this time of year, it's just nice to get out for a walk on a Sunday, the forecast will hopefully stay dry.
This is an easy linear walk along good, even paths and takes in about a half mile of some quiet roads so dogs on leads at some points.
The length will be about 6 miles with no steep hills. Suitable for most people. We'll walk as far as Mossley Mills and see how we feel and how the weather is. Some may wish to continue on Corrs Corner, which brings it up to close to 10miles.
Wear walking boots/shoes with warm, waterproof clothing. Trainers are fine on this walk, it's all flat paths.
Walks costs £1 for members and £6 for guests and non-members.
We can go for refreshments in Whiteabbey afterwards.
Click on the location address link for directions to Whiteabbey Car Park.
Public Transport - best option is the 2d bus from Belfast City Centre to Monkstown. There's a train from Belfast Lanyon Place at 10:55am which also stops at Yorkgate to Whiteabbey train station which is a 15 minute walk to Whiteabbey village. Or just post up the general direction you're coming from and hopefully someone can oblige.
Call 07583 042962 if you get lost.
See you all then.
