This is a lovely, bracing walk along the Blackhead coastal path and seashore with its stunning location and iconic lighthouse. Built in 1901 the lighthouse would have guided all of the ships in and out of Belfast Lough - including the Titanic.

This walk will take in the stunning coastal views, a scenic walk to a historic lighthouse an is in an Area of Special Scientific Interest (ASSI) famed for its wildlife sightings—including seals, birds...

The steps to the lighthouse are a little steep but reveal great views on top.

The walk is approximately 4+ miles and should take about two hours.

After the walk, we can pop into a nice coffee shop in Whitehead for a coffee and refreshments.

Wear sturdy walking boots/shoes and bring a rainjacket.

This walk costs £6 for non members and guests and £1 for fully paid up Dynamos members.

Directions:
Follow the A2 coast road from Carrick towards Whitehead. Turn off at the Bentra and turn down towards the town.
Please remember to tip your driver if you've arranged to car share. Please don't ask for or give lifts unless you are sure you are going.

If you fancy taking the train from Belfast, it stops right in the middle of Whitehead. From here head towards either car park mentioned above.

As always my number is 07583 042962 if you need it on the day. If you can't make it to the walk, please just update your RSVP.
See you there!
