Lady Dixon Park and Derriaghy Glen
Details
**PLEASE NOTE START TIME 12pm**
The forecast for tomorrow has strong southerly winds in the Ardglass area, so moving the walk to Lady Dixon which will be more sheltered
We'll start walking round Lady Dixon Park, taking in the beautiful gardens and landscaping as we go along.
At the far side of the park, we can branch off towards Dunmurray and down Derriaghy Glen, joining up with the Lagan towpath and completing the circle back to Lady Dixon Park.
The terrain is varied, with a mix of good paths and gravel trails over a distance of approximately 6 miles.
For those who would prefer a shorter walk, there's an option to just walk around Lady Dixon Park and back to the Café. This is an easy four mile walk around the park taking in the Rose Garden and River Lagan.
Go to the main entrance shown on the map above - it's the lower entrance, the one with the Gate Lodge and Stables coffee house.
To enable satnav directions on your smartphone, just click on the location. It will bring you to the meeting point.
It's possible to get to Upper Malone Road on the 8b bus which goes from Belfast along the Malone Road as far as the Trossachs stop and then walk to Lady Dixon Park.
If you do need a lift post a note and someone should be able to oblige. Please give the driver a contribution towards fuel.
Good sturdy walking shoes/boots as some of the paths are gravel and can be slippery.
We'll go for a cuppa afterwards at the Stables café.
