Ormeau Embankment
Details
Grade: Leisurely
Note the 1pm start time, also clocks change tonight!
Good news! With the yellow and amber weather warnings due to end by noon, we're going to make the most of Sunday afternoon with a walk along Ormeau Embankment, starting at 1pm. This will be a leisurely walk with no big hills so will suit anyone with average fitness. Length will be about 4 miles.
Afterwards, we'll head to Nata Portuguese for some delicious coffee and pastries. ☕🥐
A lovely chance to get some fresh air and enjoy a bit of good company once the storm has passed. Hope to see you there!
The Ormeau Embankment is situated in South Belfast and acts as a getaway from the city centre or equally as an entrance to the bustling citadel of Belfast. We can either walk towards Belfast along the Ormeau Embankment or go the opposite direction along the Lagan Towpath, either are a good choice for a leisurely walk.
We'll meet at the far end of the Dunnes Stores car park. After the walk, we can go to the nearby Nata Portuguese Coffee House for the best home-made Pastel de Nata (Portuguese custard tarts) outside of Lisbon! https://maps.app.goo.gl/ajFjBToLjCw5TyYb6
Bring a rain jacket to help with Murphy's Law and keep the rain away!
