# Structured Dog Socialization & Training Meetup

Looking for a safe, structured way to socialize your dog while practicing real-world training?

This meetup is designed for dog owners who want to improve their dog's behavior around other dogs, people, and everyday distractions in a controlled environment.

This is NOT a dog park or an off-leash play group.

Instead, we focus on helping dogs learn how to:
• Stay calm around other dogs
• Improve focus and engagement with their handler
• Practice loose leash walking
• Build confidence in new environments
• Work through distractions successfully
• Develop appropriate social skills

I'm Mitchell, owner of Belleville Dog Training and a Search & Rescue K9 handler. I run a professional dog training business, and I'll be available throughout the meetup to answer questions, provide guidance, and help you get the most out of your training.
This meetup is not a sales event, and there is no expectation or requirement to purchase training from me. You're welcome to simply come out, practice with your dog, and enjoy the group. If afterward you'd like more individualized help, you're always welcome to ask me about private lessons or paid training programs.

While training questions are always welcome, this is intended to be a structured practice session rather than a full private lesson or behavioral consultation.

## Requirements

Dogs should:
• Remain on leash at all times
• Be under reasonable handler control
• Be able to work safely around other dogs and people
• Come ready to train with food, praise, and rewards

Dogs with a history of biting or active aggression toward people or dogs are not appropriate for this group setting. If that's your situation, I'd be happy to discuss private training options.

## Please Bring

• Plenty of small training treats
• A regular leash (no retractable leashes, please)
• Water for your dog
• A positive attitude and willingness to learn
All breeds, ages, and sizes are welcome!
The goal is to create a supportive community where dogs and handlers can safely practice, learn, and improve together.
