Monday hike of Stimpson Nature Reserve
Details
Looks like we have a good weather window on Monday, and after Elk Mountain, I could use something easy...

Join us for an easy, gentle hike in the Stimpson Family Nature Reserve on Monday. This is 350 acres of undisturbed old-growth forest (some Douglas Firs over 400 years old!) and a thriving wetland ecosystem with 4.4 miles of trails. There's only 300 feet of elevation gain, so it makes for a pleasant walk in the woods.
We'll be hiking at a moderate pace so this is a hike for everyone. Except dogs, no dogs are allowed in the Reserve, even well-behaved ones. And you'll want to bring good footwear because there will be mud. Oh, yes, there will be mud.
To get there, head east on Lakeway Drive from I-5 for 3.7 miles and turn right onto Austin St., which turns into Lake Louise Rd., and in 1.5 miles you'll see Stimpson Family Reserve on the left.
